​Dr. Walter Ramirez, a native of Guatemala City, Guatemala, graduated Summa Cum Laude (Class Valedictorian) from the University of San Carlos of Guatemala. Upon graduation, he completed his training in internal medicine at Metropolitan Hospital Center - New York Medical College. He then completed his fellowship training in Cardiology and a year in Interventional Cardiology at Mount Sinai Medical Center, Miami Beach, Florida.

Dr. Ramirez is certified by the board of Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology, in addition to being Board Certified in Internal Medicine. He is member of the American College of Physicians, and fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the Society of Coronary Angiography and Angioplasty. He is the Subspecialty Coordinator of the Internal Medicine program at Kendall Regional Medical Center, as well as an Associate Professor at Nova Southeastern University and Florida International University.
